Relay for Life 2012

Northeastern University Relay for Life 2012

On March 24th, 2012, dozens of teams of Northeastern students will join together for the annual Relay for Life. As in the past, NU PRSSA will be amongst these teams. The Relay for Life is an all-night event held to raise money to support the American Cancer Society. Teams work together to fundraise up until the event where they take to walking the track of Matthews Arena. The night begins at 5pm, ends at 5am, and consists of many different ceremonies such as the touching Luminaria Ceremony, along with dedicated laps throughout the event. Many of Northeastern’s student groups also perform throughout the night in honor of this event.

Students choose to relay for a variety of different reasons; some have relatives fighting cancer, some have lost a friend, and others are survivors themselves. This common thread brings NU students together throughout the night as they walk with remembrance and hope.

This year will be my sixth year participating in the Relay for Life. Every year I am reminded of how important this cause is and how every dollar we raise matters. The best part is that donations can be made to our team simply through e-mailing the team page to friends and family.

The E-board would love for you to join our team and help donate to this year’s Relay for Life. Please use the link below to register and join us a for a wonderful experience!
